something of change...again:
moves calls! yesterday we found out who was moving and where to. i figured i was moving because that is my curse....:) well, i don't actually have to move apartments, which is a huge blessing! (i hate packing) but i am moving wards...again. the last 4 moves, i have switched inbetween different wards, which can be somewhat emotionally exhausting when it comes to gettting to know the members and the investigators in that area starting from scratch. however, i know the Lord knows what he is doing, so I will trust that he knows where i need to be. the last few moves have been somewhat difficult to see the fruits of my labors, as i have moved to a new ward, worked my tail off, built it up and then left before i saw anything happen. but i've been learning what it means to truly be a successful missionary and the virtues of humility and patience. i have to keep reminding myself, otherwise it is really easy to get discouraged. God has taught me a lot through these experiences, and i am so grateful for all i have learned.
something relating to goals:
when i started my mission, i made a goal to have a native companion. my wish has finally come true! my new companion is sister kwok. she is a native of Hong Kong and the most amazing missionary! i am so excited to work with her and can't wait to see all the miracles that come from our labor together with the Lord in the Kwun Tong area and ward. she is a convert to the church and has a powerful testimony. her family are not members and she is doing this all by herself. so inspiring. i get chills just thinking about how much i admire her. she is going to help my chinese so much too! she has a hard time with english too, so we are going to help each other! so perfect! the Lord really knows what i need right now and hopefully in some ways, she needs me too...:)
something of a goodbye:
Today, 24 missionaries here in Hong Kong are ending their missions and moving on to bigger and better things. many of them are my dear friends, among them being my trainer sister Vance, and many other dear companions, district and zone leaders, etc. so many are leaving and it is hard not to feel a sense of emptiness in the mission. it's amazing to look at them all and think of all the many things they have taught me and how much i want to try and emulate their example in the work they did here. the mission is also shrinking considerably and we lost an entire zone this moves. my thoughts are that this will only bring us closer together as a mission and hopefully help us to be more united in our efforts!...:) may you all feel the spirit of unity and love this christmas season and as you think of how best to celebrate the holidays this year. You are all in my prayers as always, cheerio!
