From the Land of crazy-business and birthday specialness

something busy!!!:

serving two wards is an adventure! we have twice the meetings, twice the investigators, twice the ward members to get to know and twice the elders to work with!! i love it, but at the end of the day, we still haven't done everything we need to, or called everyone we need to and there is never enough time to get it all in....I LOVE IT! I love being so busy that i have to completely forget myself. we are teaching TONS of LESSONS too, which is a nice change from whitewashing an area and only having 1-2 investigators. i will not complain at all, but i do have to say that the Lord really trusts us. sometimes it is overwhelming to have such a responsibility over such a large area, but the Lord always makes up the difference when we are giving our all.

something of a birthday miracle:

we taught 2 investigators yesterday on my birthday and both of them decided they want to be baptized!!! it was the best present ever!!!!!! we ate cheesecake with them afterward and they gave me cute little chinesy gifts, like a cross-stitch thing with my name and chinese characters and a bracelet that is suppose to improve your skin...:) ha! i love china. and i love the gospel.

something special:

this birthday is a special one for me, especially if you look at it through chinese eyes. the lunar calendar rotates every 12 years and every year has an animal. i was born in the year of the ox. since it was my 24th birthday, this year is MY YEAR - the year of the ox...what a great animal, i know...:) special things are suppose to happen to you when it is your year. i also turned 24 on the 24th of september! pretty crazy, if you ask me. i think that is why yesterday was so amazing. i not only got to teach investigators, but the bishop fed us later that night the most amazing meal i've ever had!!! they don't even really know me, but it was a blessing from Heavenly father i think, since he knows i just moved to this area and didn't know any members yet. i think god inspired them...:) he also inspired a random, adorable little chinese boy to sing to me. we met him in an elevator and when he found out it was my birthday, he broke out into happy birthday in chinese and then in english. he was so cute and it made yesterday even more special than it already was. thank you to everyone who wrote me yesterday too! you are amazing!

something good in the end:

so, my birthday was suppose to be on pday, but of all the weeks to switch pday, it was this week that our mission president changed it to wednesday because of some multi zone conferences he wants to do...i was so bumbed at first, BUT then i realized something amazing. all the museums in HK are closed on thursdays and free on wednesdays. because of the switch to wed, we were able to go a visit all the cool museums in TST for free!!! it was another fabulous birthday present and i got to see so many things i've been planning on seeing, but couldn't. blessings from heaven!
