From the land of change and whitewashing!

something different:

today is move day! i finally moved out of my "baby area" where i was "born" (as a missionary of course) and served for over 5 months. I love the people there and all the members who helped us so much to see so many miracles. i will miss it, but i am ready for something different. change is good and will push me to be better and work harder. I am now going to be serving the Sham Shui Po ward and my area is HUGE! especially compared to Tai Wai. i am serving the area that includes the temple and that is where i will be going to church!! so strange, going to church in the temple and teaching lessons there, but i am excited! mom, you can look it up on google earth, it covers kowloon tong, wong tai sin and part of sham shui po. i actually live in mong kok though, which is outside my area, but it's not too far on the train. yea for something new and exciting!

something challenging:

so along with moving to a new area, i will also be whitewashing. this is a missionary term that basically means you and your companion move in to a place that neither of you know anything about and have never been before. so, my new companion and i, sister Wilson, will be exploring the area together and digging in right away. we have a lot of work to do and i am ready for the challenge. before moves calls and we found out where we were serving, i prayed that the Lord would send me somewhere that would stretch me and help me to be a better missionary. i got it, baby! here we come! i'm so excited and i know we will be able to see many miracles here as well!

something rewarding:

this last saturday and sunday, a lady i have been teaching ever since i first came to Hong Kong was baptized and confirmed a member of the church. her name is Chan Wai Gun. i met her my 3rd day in Tai Wai (when i didn't know how to say anything) and she was my first Book of Mormon handed out while going finding. she is so special to me and she has overcome many obstacles to get to this point, but the Lord has blessed her so much! i feel so grateful to the Lord for giving me the opportunity to teach her, see her testimony and understanding of the gospel grow and then be baptized. it is pretty rare to get to do that as a missionary all the way through to baptism. this is only the beginning if course, but to be a part of this first step in her life is such a blessing to me!

something scriptural:

I am just finishing the Book of Mormon right now and these verses hit me so strongly this week during personal study. maybe one of you really needs to read them this week, i don't know, but here they are.
Mormon 9:21 and 27.
